Kerri and I
met while working in residence life at UBC in 1997. Kerri was
a naive and energetic (and dare I say beautiful) new face on
the rez advisor scene. I was a grizzly veteran with two tours
of duties in Totem Park under my belt. It simply made sense
that we would become partners... advising partners that is!
Yes, a power higher than both of us saw fit to pair up this
unlikely duo. Okay, if the truth be told, they begged me to
take her under my wing and show her the ropes. Little did I
realize that she wasn't one to take direction. However, she
won her new boss, me, over with her energy, charisma, and willingness
to do both of our jobs.
From this auspicious start we became fast friends and our year
working together quickly flew by. As we both moved on to bigger
and better things we stayed close. Our paths would cross every
few months and we'd catch up on each other's lives. In the fall
of 2001 our paths collided for the final time: our first date.
Since then our paths have become one and on December, 23rd,
2004, nothing was stirring. Not even a mouse. When Ole St. Nick
knocked on Kerri's door and asked her to be his Mrs. Claus!
